Neuropathy and Wound Care with PRP and Ozone injections

The patient is a 73-year-old male who, about a year and a half ago, was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. He began experiencing concerning symptoms, including numbness in his feet and constant moderate to severe pain in both his legs and feet. During the examination, it was evident that he had moderate pitting edema in both legs due to compromised lymphatic return and noticeable skin discoloration resulting from impaired circulation.

The patient also had an open wound on the lower, posterior aspect of his right leg, which he had been covering with large band-aids. Over time, he noticed a creamy, pus-like fluid oozing from the wound, and just three days before his first regenerative injection appointment on February 20, 2025, the secretion had turned yellowish with a slight greenish tint. While I advised him to visit the ER for immediate evaluation, he had no fever or systemic symptoms, which allowed us to proceed with a regenerative treatment plan, in an effort to stimulate healing and improve circulation.

We administered PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), Nano PRP, and Ozone injections to both legs. These treatments are known for their ability to promote tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and enhance blood flow, setting the stage for recovery. PRP and Ozone injections offer a remarkable approach to healing, utilizing the body’s own growth factors to regenerate tissue, improve circulation, and accelerate recovery. By encouraging natural repair processes, these treatments have the potential to make a significant difference in restoring the patient’s quality of life.

Following morning, February 21, 2025, during his follow-up appointment, the patient showed remarkable improvement. The moderate edema (swelling) had reduced by about 70%, and he reported no pain in his legs. The open wound was no longer suppurating and had begun to show the initial signs of healing.

When the patient returned on March 27, 2025, for a second round of Regenerative PRP and Ozone injections, the transformation was even more evident. The skin on both legs had dramatically improved, and the wound had completely closed. He also shared that he continued to experience no pain in his legs, nor did he have any more discharge.

The patient mentioned that he had become more active since his legs had improved so much, and he felt motivated to change his diet to manage his weight and glucose, improve his, circulation, and support his overall health.

With a big smile, he wiggled his toes and said, “Look at my toes! They’re moving again! I couldn’t move them before I came to see you.”
