Vascular Manipulation

Visceral Vascular Manipulation helps release restrictions and adhesions of the Blood Vessels and improves their relationship with the organs and tissues they irrigate. Enhancing blood flow and re-establishing normal nutrition, detoxification, and oxygenation of the organs and tissues, helps the body regain its vitality and diminishes dysfunction and pain.

Benefits of Vascular Manipulation

  • Enhanced circulation to the brain
  • Improvement in mental vitality, memory and clarity
  • Improved performance of the different organs, viscera and systems of the body
  • Improvement in homeostasis and modulation of the immune system
  • A more balanced production of necessary bodily fluids
  • A more balanced secretion of neurotransmitters, enzymes and hormones
  • Improved health, wellbeing and general vitality
  • Enhanced performance in the different organs/viscera and systems of the body
  • Improved comfort and diminished pain in different areas of the body
  • Improvement in symptoms of chronic debilitating conditions
  • Enhanced circulation of arterial blood flow, venous blood flow and lymphatic flow in specific and general areas of the body

In the functional hierarchy of the body, “Arteries rule” followed closely by nerves and neural tissue. Blood Vessels in Visceral Osteopathy are considered one of the highest hierarchy levels in the body.

If an artery is being tractioned, twisted or compressed, this might be costly and/or painful and the body will find a way to create slack for this vessel, even if it has to cause structural changes and/or deformities of the musculoskeletal system to preserve the oxygenation and nutritional irrigation function of the artery.

Vascular Manipulation works on releasing restrictions of the blood vessels and optimizing the blood flow to the tissues, organs/viscera and the Brain. Removing adhesions, torsions and blockages from the blood vessels increases the supply of greater nutrition and oxygenation to specific tissues and organs, enhancing local and general function, vitality, health, and comfort.

Arteries carry oxygenated blood, healing factors, growth factors, and nutrients. The structure of arteries is elastic and muscular. They have multiple nerve filaments surrounding them, which give constant information and feedback from the organs to the Central and Autonomic Nervous Systems. In order to get the most beneficial results when working at the level of arteries and nerves, the manipulations need to be extremely specific, localized, non-invasive and precise. When releasing blood vessels (vascular structures) we look to optimize the blood flow to an organ, tissue or area of the body. This new, specific and localized enhanced blood flow needs to be sustained manually in the position that caused the increased strength of the pulse, for up to 40 sec. Holding the optimized pulse will increase the circulation to the organs/viscera and their surrounding areas, and promote the recovery of unrestricted and sufficient blood flow.

Veins carry venous blood which is colder than arterial blood and has lower concentrations of glucose, nutrients, unbound free oxygen and has a lower, more acidic pH. Venous blood carries higher concentrations of urea, carbon dioxide, and other waste products.  Usually, an artery travels along with a nerve and a vein. When we work on arteries, we could also relieve tensions and adhesions on the nerves and veins that travel with them, and improve their performance.
