With more than 20 years in clinical practice, Claudia’s passion for manual therapies and their integration with the Immune System and the Central, Autonomic and Peripheral Nervous Systems, has led her to explore and incorporate a group of healing approaches that complement each other and allow the patient’s healing process to be a more rewarding, effective and harmonious experience.
She graduated as a Physical Therapist in February 1989 and immediately started studying Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. For more than 8 years, Claudia practiced Physical Therapy in Pennsylvania at Out Patient and Sports Medicine clinics and also worked 2 years doing Home Care for Health Corporation of America and 3 yrs more for the Lehigh Valley Hospital Network.
Since 1999 Claudia has been utilizing Cranio-Sacral Therapy to support her pediatric and adult patients’ healing. In many occasions, Claudia has been a Teaching Assistant (TA) of the Cranio-Sacral courses, as well as a preceptor for the Advanced Cranio-Sacral course offered through the Upledger Institute.
Claudia is also a practitioner of Visceral Manipulation and follows the Barral Institute curriculum to treat:
- The organs and viscera contained in the Abdomen and the Pelvis and their relationship
with the Reproductive systems and organs of elimination and the Lumbo-Sacral region
- The Chest including its relationship with the Brachial Plexus and the Cervico-Thoracic Spine
- Pain Management and specific Organ/Viscera deficiencies and malfunction
- Restrictions of the Central Nervous and Cardio-Vascular systems and the fascia system caused by trauma, toxic exposure, and strong emotional components.
Her initial Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture training was received at The Neijing school of Acupuncture and Traditional Medicine in Cali, Colombia. A few years later she graduated with further training from the Eastern College of Oriental Medicine in Montclair, NJ, where she trained 3 years with Kiiko Matsumoto (Constitutional Japanese and Manaka Styles).
Claudia studied Herbal Medicine at the Dragon Rises college in Gainesville and at Florida College of Integrative Medicine (FCIM) and received a “Diplomate in Herbal Medicine” certification from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She also holds national certifications for both Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, through the NCCAOM and maintains active licenses in both Physical Therapy and Acupuncture in Pennsylvania.
She received her Master in Health Sciences with Maximum Suma Cum Laude from the FCIM, where she also worked for two years as a professor and a supervising Physician for the “Intern Walk-In Clinic” before committing full time to her clinical practice in Central Florida.
The Basic and Advanced curriculums of the Toyohari Acupuncture program of Japan have been a very important aspect of her professional exploration. Toyohari – Gentle Japanese Acupuncture is a system that offers more than 95% Non-Insertive techniques for children (Shonishin: Pediatric Acupuncture) and adults. Claudia continues to attend numerous Toyohari National and Regional trainings, as well as the Toyohari International trainings in Tokyo to enhance her refined palpatory, diagnostic and treatment skills.
Her Injection Therapy certification was received from the Florida College of Oriental Medicine, and she has continued furthering her education with trainings in applied Homotoxicology, Neuro Regulatory Therapies, Mesotherapy and Prolotherapy (Ligament/Joint Regeneration Injections).
Claudia considers that Acupuncture, Manual Therapy, Physical Modalities and Injection Therapy for regeneration of ligament and joint protection are a great combination for correction of postural and structural imbalances and to relieve pain and diminish chronic inflammation.
Aesthetic Medicine and Skin Rejuvenation have been one of Claudia’s favorite interest and she offers a comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation program to her patients, which includes Nutraceuticals Injections, Growth Factor stimulators, Electrical Stimulation (Infra Red, Micro-current, Galvanic and High Frequency), Micro-Dermal Therapy, Therapeutic Massage and Acupuncture Face Lifts.
